10-Year Anniversary Fundraiser

help our students get to tahiti!

Te Aho Nui celebrates 10 years as a pupu ‘ori (dance group) this year! To celebrate, we are organizing a huge group trip for our students to go to Tahiti in July to watch Heiva i Tahiti. Our students will also be participating in dance workshops and cultural excursions in the fenua to really immerse themselves in Tahitian culture. Needless to say, getting to Tahiti can be expensive. Our students have to cover the cost of hotel, air fare, ground transportation, food, and more. Many of our students have been organizing fundraisers—both as a group and individually—to help offset costs.

That’s where you come in!

ABOUT OUR 10 YEAR LOGO…

Created by our longtime friend and collaborator Kris Lee of O Hina’aro Nui, this design represents new life and new beginnings—a reflection of our journey as a dance school and the community we continue to grow. It speaks to the idea of searching for a home, a place of belonging, and ultimately finding safety and connection within one another. The diamond shape symbolizes the womb—a powerful, life-giving force and the origin of creation. It also represents strength and resilience, as diamonds are unbreakable. The four birds represent the four directions—north, south, east, and west—like a compass. They honor the fact that our dancers come from all over, each bringing their own story, yet finding unity here.
