leolani gallardo

BORN AND RAISED IN LOS ANGELES, CA.

Leolani Gallardo has over 25 years of dance experience competing, performing, and teaching internationally. Leolani is not only an Ori Tahiti instructor, but also a freelance performing artists specializing in Tahitian dance, Hawaiian Hula, and fire performance. Leolani is especially known for being a touring artist teaching workshops in Mexico, New Zealand, Australia, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Beijing, Indonesia, and Barcelona!

Leolani began her hula training at the age of 6 years old under the direction of Kumu Hula (master) Keali'i Ceballos. Keali'i 's hula halau, Keali'i 'O Nālani, is based in West Los Angeles. As a young teen, Leolan then joined a reputable Tahitian dance troupe in Anaheim, California, performing and competing with this group for 12 years under the direction of Mevina Liufau.

With a bachelor's degree in World Arts and Cultures from UCLA,

Leolani has gone on to dance for Tokyo Disney's Polynesian Luau production completing an 11-month contract in 2009.

In 2012, Leolani lived and trained in Tahiti for three months and competed in the 130th Annual Heiva I Tahiti dance competition with the troupe, Hitireva. Under the direction of Kehaulani Chanquy, Hitireva won 2nd Place in the Hura Tau (professional division) group category that year.

Leolani has completed Level 1 and Level 2 of the International Ori Tahiti Training Course at Conservatoire Artistique de la Polynesie Franciaise “Te Fare Upa Rau” in Tahiti in 2014/2015.

In 2016, Leolani started TE AHO NUI out of a small studio in Downtown L.A. with a maximum capacity of 11 dancers. They soon outgrew the space and started rehearsing at the LA Bellydance Academy and the Los Angeles Theatre Center. In 2018, Leolani completed the Masters Workshops at the Heiva International program organized by Matani Kainuku in Tahiti. There she took classes with the master chef/instructors of Nonahere, Hei Tahiti, Hitireva, Les Grand Ballet, Manohiva, Ori i Tahiti, and Tamariki Poerani. On this same trip to Tahiti Leolani competed in the Ori I Matavai Solo Competition winning the Overall 1st Place Vahine award. The following week she competed in the World Cup Heiva International Solo Competition at To'ata and won 3rd Place. Also in 2018, Leolani brought 27 of her TE AHO NUI students to Tahiti to watch the Heiva I Tahiti and complete Adelina Hanere’s cultural immersion program ‘Tupuna Kultures’ on the island of Mo’orea. During this same trip to Tahiti Leolani competed in the Hura ‘Ai ‘Ai Solo Competition - part of Coco Hota Hota‘ s Farereiraa Event and won 3rd Place out of 62 contestants in her entire age category.

RINA BRENNER

ASSISTANT INSTRUCTOR

Rina Brenner began her 'Ori Tahiti journey in 1996 with the world renowned Polynesian dance group "Nonosina" in Anaheim,CA.  Here, Rina had the opportunity to train and work with some of the worlds most creative and impactful minds in Polynesian Culture and Dance.  Through her journey she has performed in numerous shows and large scale productions across California, Nevada, Hawai’i and Tahiti. 

 Rina is an award wining competitive 'Ori Tahiti Soloist, holding over 15 award titles. In 2018, she joined her colleague Leolani Gallardo's group "Te Aho Nui" in Los Angeles,CA. Rina Brenner strives to continually seek and share knowledge while growing in the 'Ori Tahiti Dance community.

TALLON PEDRAGOSA

TANE INSTRUCTOR

Tallon Pedregosa was born in San Francisco and raised in Los Angeles until the age of 7. While in Los Angeles he danced hula, competed, and placed in Keiki Kane competitions with Keali'i O Nalani under the direction of Kumu Keali'i Ceballos. 

In 1999, he moved to his parents' hometown of Stockton, CA where his parents opened "Na Hoku Mai Kanoelani" a hula and Tahitian dance school. Tallon has participated in and place in various hula and Tahitian competitions throughout the years, with the most notable titles from:

Heiva I Paris 2022- 3rd Place Overall Tane

Heiva International Ori Tahiti World Cup - 1st Place 2016, and, 2nd Place 2018 - To'ata, Tahiti 

San Jose Tahiti Fete - 1st Place Overall Tāne 2017 - San Jose, CA

Hura Tahiti - Overall 1st Place in 2014, 2015, and 2016 - Cerritos, CA

Manahere I Ori Tahiti - 1st Place Overall Tāne in 2015 and 2016 - Milpitas, CA

Hevia Ma'ohi O Patitifa - 1st Place Overall Sr. Tāne in 2015 and 2016- Sacramento, CA
